I Loved Cliff and some of my best Football memories are with him. He was my neighbor and we would go really hard head to head at practice then ride home together both of us beat up by the other. Some times not talking but always friends with a close bond. What a great guy.

I remember Cliff as very kind guy who could always make me smile with a funny comment or action! We did not keep in contact after HS but I have no doubt that he was a wonderful husband and father. Wishing his family peace at this difficult timeđź’ť

I remember Cliff as a very funny kid. We had Math together. He was always spitting little tiny balls of paper at me. When I would say something to him. He would just put his head down. And laugh with those rosey red checks. Seems like yesterday. Prayers to his family ❤️

Our senior year, I was working at a body and fender shop. So Cliffy wrote me a song. Called "The body shop blues ".

Any party or pep rally , Cliffy was there! He was a good natured soul and always kind. These pics are first for me to see him as an adult. I am glad he found love and had a loving family. Just as I wish for all my classmates. Here's a tidbit: Cliffy's dad and my dad knew each other in the Navy!

What an amazing tribute to Cliff. Cliff was not only my brother, but my hero. I remember so many of the names on here and he loved you all. Weerda, Moose, and Troy, I remember you all and some of those shenanigans Cliff got in to with you all. The basketball games on the stage at Winnebago were some wild times and there I was as a 7 or 8 year old taking it all in. Those back yard football games were so special to look back on. People wonder why I coach and love sports so much, Cliff and you all are the reason why. Thank you all for an amazing tribute to Cliff.

Coming into Winnebago my Sophomore year I was fortunate enough to make many great long time friends. With our school being so small I consider myself lucky to have known everyone in some capacity. Cliff was very kind to me. When I first arrived to Winnebago HS I was uncomfortable, as most of you had been life long friends, but I remember Cliff from lunch and I believe a class with Mr. Torrisi. My memory of Cliff includes how he made me feel welcome and always a part of
The “group” rather than an outsider. To Cliffs family & dear friends please know you have a village of “Indians” sending thoughts & prayers during this difficult time.

As we all have grown older, when we lose a classmate, it brings back tons of memories. I don't think I had any classes with Cliff, but I do remember lunch with him. He was always laughing and having fun with the football "Guys". Gone way too soon. Rest in peace my classmate. Your memories will live on!!!

Two memories that really stick out with me he was center on the football team and he always wanted to do center sneak so one day in practice our junior  year Frank Lee was still coaching football and was offensive coordinator the O always scrimmaged against defense coach Lee called center sneak Cliff about jumped out of shoes it worked nice play fake and next thing you know Cliff is rambling down the field Hooting and hollering and that laugh he scored it was prettycool. The other is our senior year in football we were playing Byron 4thqtr we were down 13-0 then all of a we starting clicking and the next thing we tied the game extra point try for the win Cliff snapped on that and punts also Cliff snapped ball went through we won 14-13 started out 3-0 but never won another game sucked but Cliff was so excited and talked about it quite often . That is some of my memories of Cliff!!!! RIP my friend

I have alot of memories of Cliff from playing backyard football on Saturday afternoons with Andy, Paul, and Brian. Then there was our 6th man group that packed the stage at home basketball games we would get crazy so much he and I couldn't go  to 2 home games because the principal said we were to out of control what a crock on that . Then there was his laugh which was very distinct he always fun to be around we hung out quite a bit even after the High School year.

Another memory I have of Cliff is our cruising days in high school. There wasn’t much to do in Winnebago and so a group of guys would get a bottle of vodka or everclear or something else cheap and disgusting and drive around the country roads drinking and listening to rock music. The rotation of guys would always change but Cliff and I seemed to always be there. We had a lot of laughs and one bottle among five or six guys rarely left us drunk.

There is one great memory of Clifford that some of us will laugh about the rest of our lives. A group of us went to Michelle’s and Cliff’s wedding reception. When we arrived Cliff was out dancing like a maniac. We sat down at a table and when Clifford saw us there he came over and planted the biggest kiss you can imagine on V. He was so happy to see us ,it was great! Ok I am going to wrap it up with tears in my eyes thinking about Clifford. He was a great guy!!!!

When it came to football Cliff was the most dedicated player on the team. He didn’t complain about having to snap the ball while getting hit at the same time. Cliff always delivered a great snap knowing he was always at a disadvantage of getting out of his stance to block. As we all know we did not have very good football teams but it was no fault of Cliff’s. He was definitely an underrated football player. Never getting the praise that he deserved for doing a great job. Cliff and I had a small secret we kept between us. We knew our best play was when there was no one lined up over him, I would come up to the line and give him a harder smack on his ass than usual and we would run a quarterback sneak. No one else knew what was going on just Cliff and myself and I could always count on Cliff to make a good block on the first defender he encountered. We ran that play a lot and like I said we both agreed it was the best play we had. I will never forget the bruises that Cliff would get on his arms from delivering blows while blocking. I know he was proud of every bruise. Cliff would get so mad at me because early on during our Senior year I got a cut on the top of my hand that rested on his crotch when receiving the snap. Every band aid tape or whatever I put on it would eventually come off before practice or a game ended, leaving a nice blood spot on Cliff’s pants. He would get so mad because obviously it left a bad stain in not such a great place on his pants. And me being an ass I would always ask Cliff if it was that time of the month again. I am going to wrap it up with I wish we had a lot more Cliffords on the team!!!

Our freshman and sophomore year football teams were horrible. We barely had enough players to field a team. We lost every game except one in two years. We wouldn’t just get beat we would get beat like 70-0. Cliff was a workhorse. He was committed and always giving it his all. I remember after one particular bad game Cliff was sitting alone in the locker room crying (just a little). It inspired me and others to work even harder. Unfortunately, we did not improve but sports aren’t always about winning, sometimes they are about learning values and respect and fighting along side and in honor of your friends for a common goal.

Cliff was one of those guys that for along everyone. It didn't matter what click you were part of her would always, at a minimum, say hi. I rode the bus with Cliff and he kept me laughing no that boring ride. He always had some local knowledge I never heard about.
When beer can collecting was hot Cliff sold me an Edelweiss can that was one of my favorites and I kept until I lost it in a move in San Jose. I paid way too much for the can but it was a good way to have more of a connection with Cliff. He gave me a hard time for a while on that one.
All around a good guy!

I remember him being funny...Rest in Peace my classmate…
Troy wrote on December 19, 2021
In junior high Cliff had made a funny face in his class picture and was required to come back and take it again during retakes. I was in charge of putting the photos together in the year book and used both photos as though it were two different students. I could only do that knowing that Cliff would think it was funny and everyone else would as well.
